Hideo Kojima & Guillermo del Toro set to reimagine Silent Hill

Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro are teaming up to develop Silent Hills, the next game in the legendary Silent Hill horror franchise.

The announcement was clevery hidden at the end of the just-released demo for P.T., a horror game announced during Sony’s Gamescom presser earlier today. The first-person demo, which went live on PlayStation Store immediately following P.T.’s reveal, ends with the names of Kojima and Del Toro appearing onscreen. Then, the main character turns around and faces the camera. He is revealed to be played by Norman Reedus of TV’s The Walking Dead.

The screen flashes white to reveal the game’s true title: Silent Hills.

Twitch user SoapyWarpig was the first to chronicle the demo’s end and the big reveal. Here’s the video (jump ahead to the 1:16:00 mark):

Silent Hills will run on Fox Engine. No release date is known. A disclaimer at the demo’s end explains that this teaser has no direct relation to the game itself, so it’s likely we won’t see or experience P.T.’s gameplay in Silent Hills.
