Greylock Studios News PS4 PS5 Severed Steel Severed Steel Release Date

High-Octane Shooter Severed Steel Is Launching On July 20 For PS4, PS5

Digerati and Greylock Studio have staple-gunned a July 20 release date to the PS4 and PS5 versions of upcoming stylish shooter Severed Steel. The Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X/S versions will arrive on July 21 and July 22, respectively.

If you’d rather pick up the game on disc, then Merge Games has announced that it will be publishing a physical version of Severed Steel later this summer for $34.99/£29.99. Severed Steel was originally released for the PC in September 2021.

While the level editor seen in the PC edition isn’t featured on PS4 and PS5 versions of the game, players will be able to enjoy everything else on offer, including Campaign, Firefight, and New Game+ modes, plus 42 stages, 27 weapons, and much more.

If you have’t been keeping up with the game, Severed Steel features a one-armed protagonist, the titular Steel, who battles against the dastardly mega corporation EdenSys with a range of weapons, whether it’s peppering foes with 4.7mm rounds or blasting holes all over the place with your arm cannon.

Severed Steel isn’t just an ordinary shooter though: there’s no reloading, so you must time your shorts well and be quick to pinch your next weapon from fallen enemies. You’ll be doing all of this while making things as stylish as possible, marrying combat with wall runs, dive, flips, and other fancy manoeuvres.

If it all sounds a bit like John Wick on steroids with bullet-time thrown in, then you’d be right.

Severed Steel is due out on July 20 for PS4 & PS5.
