Hitman trailer takes us on a sun-kissed tour of Sapienza

To soften the blow of now having to wait until March 2016 for the arrival of Hitman on PlayStation 4, IO-Interactive has released a new trailer giving us a tour of one of the new locations, the sunny Italian coastal town of Sapienza.

In the trailer, Agent 47 proves he’s a master of stealth as he skulks in the shadows and sneaks around the cobbled streets and rooftops of Sapienza. When the game launches next year, players will be able to explore two additional towns, Paris and Marrakesh, with further locations and missions being added as DLC packs later in the year.

Hitman features a more open game design than Hitman: Absolution, allowing players to explore a sandbox-like environment and get creative with their kills. IO has said that each stage packs around 300 NPCs into the mix, with levels themselves around six-seven times larger than those in Absolution.

Unlike the last instalment in the series, Hitman does not feature a checkpoint system. Instead, gamers can opt to save their progress at any point. Contracts mode also makes a return alongside a simplified version of Absolution’s Instinct mode.
