Hogwarts Legacy Developer Has ‘Set Some Expectations’ For The Game’s Free Summer Update

Avalanche Software community boss Chandler Wood has moved to ‘set some expectations’ for the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy free summer update.

While Wood wasn’t able to divulge any specific info about the update, he did attempt to offer a realistic idea of what to expect as fans have been heavy speculating on what it will offer.

We are thrilled that you are all excited for the free update to Hogwarts Legacy this summer. We love seeing all the guesses and hopes for what will be part of this update, and while we are not ready to talk about it yet, I do want to set some expectations for what we are working on.

Our original wording of ‘additional updates and features for the game’ was very intentional. This update is a small way of us showing appreciation to our players for the amazing reception to the game.

Hogwarts Legacy was released in February 2023 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, with an Xbox One and PS4 version arriving in July and a Nintendo Switch edition following in November. You can read our full verdict on the game here.

Despite the success of Hogwarts Legacy as a major single-player title – it was named the best-selling video game of 2023, after all – publisher Warner Bros. has instead decided to focus on live service games going forward, for reasons that continue to elude us given the failure of Suicide Squad.
