Damnbuster Studio has recommended that those of you who plan on picking up Homefront: The Revolution this week be sure to download the day-one patch.
Writing in a post on the game’s official forum, the studio revealed that the update will feature a variety of performance tweaks to the upcoming open-world first-person shooter. You’ll likely grab it anyway, as you have to download the update if you want to take Homefront online.
“The Day 1 update includes a range of performance and framerate improvements as well as other fixes to enhance your playthrough experience. We strongly recommend you have the Day 1 update installed before starting your playthrough.”
Homefront: The Revolution hits PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One in the U.S. today and arrives in Europe on Friday, May 20.
The sequel to 2011’s cult shooter developed by Kaos Studios, Homefront: The Revolution has suffered from a problematic development cycle for the past five years, chiefly due to shifting development studios.
After publisher THQ went under, the rights to the franchise was picked up by Deep Silver, who then assigned Crytek UK to develop the title. Originally, The Revolution was going to take on a more linear play style like its predecessor, but development later shifted to a more open-world experience.
Crytek UK also ran into issues however, and Deep Silver formed a new studio, Dambuster Studio, with many of Crytek’s former staff members joining the new outfit.
