Horizon Call Of The Mountain Director Has Been Made Redundant By Firesprite

Alex Barnes, the director behind PSVR 2‘s Horizon: Call of the Mountain, has revealed that he has been made redundant by Firesprite.

Today was my last day at Firesprite and PlayStation, as after nearly 7 years here I am being made redundant. It has been a tough time over the past few months, thank you to all the folks that have continued to help each other through all of this, you have been incredible.

The people at Firesprite and Guerrilla who pulled together to build Horizon Call of the Mountain are some of the most talented and dedicated developers I’ve had the pleasure to work with. It has been the honour of a lifetime to have been a game director with a team like this.

Firesprite was one of the developers affected by the layoffs, but it wasn’t revealed exactly how many staff had lost their jobs as a result of the cuts.
