Develop: Brighton has awarded Guerrilla Games‘ Horizon Forbidden West the award for Best Game, less than six months after the game hit stores.
These awards aren’t likely your typical Game of the Year events that you’d normally see in December, though. Develop: Brighton is designed specially for game creators and its advisory board is made up of multiple development teams.
Horizon Forbidden West also nabbed the Best Visual Art awards, while Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart received a nod in the Best Technical Innovation category. Meanwhile, Deathloop picked up Best Original IP, Life is Strange True Colors nabbed Best Narrative, Unpacking won Best Game Design, and Best Audio was awarded to Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
