Guerrilla Games has posted a series of job listings indicating it is working on a multiplayer entry in the Horizon franchise.
The studio is looking to fill a number of roes, including a senior social systems designer, which is seeking individuals “with a passion for player communities and social features” to “explore creative ways players can connect with others in-game.”
“You will work within a core team of multiple designers focused on social systems and player engagements, and take charge to ensure quality feature delivery.”
Meanwhile, Guerrilla is also hiring for a senior game writer, which is looking for someone with “extensive knowledge of stories and narrative design in open-world RPG games, online games, and MMORPGs” to develop “mission, quest writing and narrative design”
VGC has also heard that Guerrilla Games has been wanting to expand into multiplayer for the Horizon franchise, although it has never officially confirmed anything outright. The site’s sources claim that Horizon Zero Dawn was originally going to feature co-op, but this was ultimately cut from the final product.
Regardless whether or not this new project is related to Horizon, Guerrilla Games is busy working on the next chapter in the series, Horizon Forbidden West, which is pencilled in for a PS4 and PS5 release on February 18, 2022.
