PS5 versions of Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2: Wong Number appear to be on the horizon as a list of Trophies for both games have appeared online.
Developer Dennaton Games and publisher Devolver Digital have yet to make an official announcement on the subject yet, but usually when Trophies leak online it’s only a matter of time before we get a formal reveal. Still, file this one under rumour for the time being, just in case.
The original Hotline Miami was released in 2012 for Windows PC and later ported to the PS3 and PS Vita in June the following year. A PS4 version followed in August 2014, with a Hotline Miami Collection arriving on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One in August 2019 and April 2020, respectively.
Set in 1989 in Miami, the game follows silent protagonist ‘Jacket’ as he received coded messages on his answering machine, requesting him to go on a rampage against the local Russian Mafia. Hotline Miami combines 1980s-inspired visuals and music with a top-down perspective, stealth, and extreme violence.
The sequel, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, launched for Windows PC, PS3, PS4, and PS Vita in Mach 2015, and takes place before, during, and after the events of its predecessor. As such, the game’s events are told from the viewpoint of various characters across different locations.
