How to remove & install the PS4 faceplate

There might come a time when you will need to remove your PlayStation 4 faceplate. Maybe you want to switch out the standard one for a designer faceplate. Or you’ve maxed out your current hard drive underneath the faceplate and need to upgrade to a larger one. To make sure you’re removing and installing faceplates on your PS4 correctly, follow these easy steps, provided by Sony.

1) Make sure the system is turned off. If the system light is white or orange, press and hold the power button for 7 seconds, until you hear two beeps.

2) Wait about 30 seconds for all system lights to turn off.

3) Unplug the AC power cord and then discount all cables from the PS4 system.

4) Place both hands on top of the faceplate with your thumbs on the side of the system, below the faceplate.

5) Press down on the faceplate and pull it towards you until it comes free about a quarter of an inch.

6) Lift the right side of the faceplate first, then lift the left side.
