Sunset Overdrive PS4 release on the cards?
“With or without Microsoft’s participation, Sunset Overdrive may grind again,” said Insomniac Games' President Ted Price in a recent interview with Game Informer.
Released in 2014, Sunset Overdrive was released exclusively on Xbox One by the developer of the PlayStation exclusive franchises, Ratchet & Clank, Resistance and the upcoming Spider-Man 4. The developer's growing relationship with Sony over the years has led to speculation that the Sunset Overdrive series could eventually appear on PS4, and this latest comment suggests that Insomniac would be more than happy to bring its popular shooter to other platforms.

“We are passionate about that franchise, and we own it, so you may see more Sunset in the future from us,” said Price. “No promises, and no timeline to speak of, but it is something that represents our willingness to create unexpected experiences.”
Sunset Overdrive received high critical acclaim on release. The open-world third-person shooter was praised for its humor and combat, and at the time was labelled the “best Xbox One exclusive.”
Whether Insomniac will work with Sony to bring the original game to PS4, or eventually work on a sequel, is unknown. Either way, Sunset Overdrive is a game that would make a great addition to the PlayStation platform.
