Hydrophobia will be making a splash on PlayStation Network and Steam later this year, Dark Energy Digital has confirmed.
The adventurer took quite a pasting from critics upon its release on Xbox LIVE Arcade last year, though many of the game’s problems were soon rectified via a patch.
Fortunately, the PSN and Steam release – titled Hydrophobia Prophecy – will throw in all the polish of the patched XBLA version, and includes a plethora of additional content, such as new levels, fresh gameplay mechanics, a new ending, tweaked back-story, enhanced graphics and more.
"We could’ve just ported Hydrophobia Pure over to Steam and PSN after the positive response it received, but we decided to go much further," commented Dark Energy Digital’s Pete Jones.
"The community really blew us away with the incredible response to Hydrophobia Pure and the outstanding level of feedback on the listening post, so we wanted to return the favour and ensure we created a bigger and better experience in every possible respect with Hydrophobia Prophecy for Steam and PSN."
In addition to the extra goodies present, the PSN and Steam version will also throw in a feedback system known as Darknet, which allows gamers to deliver opinions at any point during gameplay.
The game hits Steam on May 9, with a PSN following shortly afterwards. Stay tuned.
