Infinity Ward hints at more Modern Warfare 2 map packs

Robert Bowling, director of communications and community manager at Infinity Ward, has hinted that the company may release yet more map packs for Modern Warfare 2 in addition to the two previously announced post-launch batches.

The two map packs in question were announced at E3 in June and will be released as a timed exclusive for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console, arriving on PlayStation 3 soon after. However, recent comments made by Activision bigwig Mike Griffith suggested that these would be the only map packs released for the hotly anticipated sequel. Not so, according to Bowling.

Speaking to MTV’s Multiplayer Blog, he commented, “As far as DLC goes, we love it and plan to support ‘Modern Warfare 2′ heavily with post-launch support,” “We’ve confirmed we’ll be doing AT LEAST two map packs which were announced at E3 as a timed exclusive for Xbox 360.”

“The fact that we confirmed at least two map packs doesn’t mean there won’t be more; honestly we plan on shaping our DLC based on community feedback from the full game, and first two DLC map packs.

“Therefore, the community will really determine what comes after that.”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released for PS3, PC and Xbox 360 on November 10.
