Infinity Ward’s next Call of Duty heading to PS4, Xbox 720?

The next Call of Duty title from Infinity Ward will be released for next-generation consoles in addition to current formats, an online CV has suggested.

The resume for Infinity Ward lead engineer and project manager, Andrew Aye, confirms that he’s busy beavering away on an ‘unannounced title,’ which is presumably a new Call of Duty in the Modern Warfare vein.

As Kotaku points out, if series tradition dictates then the title will be released in 2013, as this year’s instalment, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, is currently being developed by Treyarch.

In regards to platforms, Aye’s CV lists XB2 (Xbox 360), PS3, PC DX11 and “TBA” – possibly referring to Microsoft and Sony’s next-generation platforms, codenamed Durango and Orbis, respectively.

The CV also states that Aye is working to “support game and engine development,” and is “responsible for setting technical direction and design for a new high-end DX11 code base.”

Previous Infinity Ward employee CVs have likewise hinted that its upcoming project is next-gen bound.

Of course, it goes without saying that all the above is pure conjecture at this point, as there has been no official word from Infinity Ward or Activision in regards to the developer’s next project or planned formats.

However, with next-gen kicking off in 2013 (or so we’re lead to believe), the prospect that a new CoD title would be heading to those new machines on or around launch isn’t entirely all that far-fetched.

We’ll keep you posted.
