One of the most intriguing and innovative looking RTS adventures to come along in a good while, Empire of the Ants is set to release on PS5 and PS5 Pro on November 7, 2024.
Essentially Total War: A Bug’s Life, Empire of the Ants has players assume the mantle of a legion of ants as they must survive and thrive against rival colonies and other super predators, all the while building secure nests and gaining new abilities along the way.
Mixing up RTS and adventure elements rather deftly, Empire of the Ants is brought to vivid life by Unreal Engine 5.4 and makes the most of that engine’s capabilities for rendering fine geometric detail at a micro level, with rural environments looking practically photorealistic as hundreds of highly detailed ants scurry about the screen.
With a twenty hour story campaign coupled with adversarial online multiplayer modes, Empire of the Ants is looking to be quite an unusual though wholly impressive tactical affair when it releases on November 7, 2024.
Additionally, Empire of the Ants is the first PS5 Pro Enhanced title and will offer up a 60 frames per second mode that just wouldn’t possible on the standard PS5 version of the game.
You can catch more than eight minutes of gameplay from Empire of the Ants below.
