Despite recent speculation that Insomniac Games was going to take on the multiplatform world, the company has recently revealed that it will remain exclusive to PlayStation 3. In a press release sent around earlier today, Insomniac detailed that it had received an award for being one of the top five smaller businesses in California to work for, and also acknowledged that it has started development on an title that will remain exclusive to our beloved PlayStation 3.
"Insomniac Games is currently developing an unannounced title, exclusively for PS3," read the release.
One of the key bits of information provided in the release included the sales numbers for the company’s three key franchises, Spyro the Dragon, Resistance, and Ratchet & Clank, which together have exceeded 32 million units worldwide.
"Last year was an especially historic time for Insomniac in that we launched two successful games in one year while also laying the groundwork for our new North Carolina studio," says Insomniac founder and CEO Ted Price.
"It’s therefore especially gratifying to earn such praise for our work culture considering the volume of activity and change we experienced. When we factor in the multitude of innovative companies populating the state this honor becomes even more humbling and special."
This is the eighth time the studio has been honored with a Best Workplace award since 2005. We’d like to congratulate everyone at Insomniac for their achievements and can’t wait to see what else the company has to offer its faithful fans.
