Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 developer Insomniac Games has revealed that it is fixing an error with the game, in which the character Miles Morales has a Cuban flag hanging in his home.
Fans will probably recall however that Miles and his family are Puerto Rican, and have no connections to Cuba. Both flags have a similar design, featuring five stripes, a triangle on the left-hand side and a star in the middle. The biggest difference is the colours of the flag; the Puerto Rican flag has a blue triangle and red stripes, while the Cuban flag displays a red triangle and blue stripes.
James Stevenson, director of community and marketing for Insomniac Games has revealed that the issue is going to be patched. In response to a follower on pointed out the issue, he replied simply, “Fix is coming for that.”
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was released on October 20, 2023 exclusively for the PS5. The game topped the UK physical charts on its release, becoming the region’s fourth-biggest boxed launch of the year so far and beating Super Mario Bros. Wonder in the process.
