Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby will pen the script for GK Films’ planned Tomb Raider movie reboot, reports VG247.
In addition to contributing to the likes of 2008’s Iron Man, the duo’s credits also include the critically acclaimed Children of Men, for which they were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
The rights to Lara Croft’s silver-screen antics were snapped up by GK Films back in March, with the company planning on releasing its first Tomb Raider project in 2013.
The series has seen two films to date under Paramount, namely 2001’s Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and 2003’s Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life.
GK Films’ offering will apparently share ties with Crystal Dynamics’ forthcoming videogame outing, which will also reboot the franchise.
