PlayStation 3 owners may soon get Hulu added to their already hefty PlayStation Network experience. A report in Bloomberg indicates that Sony is close to an agreement to carry a paid TV service from Hulu.
This report is apparently backed up by two people with knowledge of the talks. If this information is correct, the partnership could be announced as soon as next week. A subscription-based Hulu service has been in discussion for quite a while as many companies have recently been pulling shows. There is also talk that part of Hulu will remain free.
But according to the report in Bloomberg, PS3 owners will be able to subscribe to Hulu’s extensive on-demand service. If Hulu does offer a service, it would create competition for Netflix, a video service that is available on all three consoles. Hulu may also be available on the Xbox 360 in the near future.
We will bring you word if Sony announces a partnership with Hulu, but we can only speculate that the service is a perfect fit for the new PlayStation Plus.
