The main Pro Evolution Soccer franchise, including PES 2016 in its current form, may be no more if this upcoming list of Konami games is anything to go by.
On the list you can see a game entitled Winning Eleven 2015 myClub. Though Winning Eleven is the name that Pro Evolution Soccer releases under in Japan, this is actually the free-to-play version for PS4 which launched in Japan in March. Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 is NOT listed.
In fact, the only two games listed that have yet to be released this year by Konami are Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and arcade game, Matsuri de Fever!!
What this probably means, though some are speculating that Konami may be leaving the AAA videogame industry entirely, is that PES 2016 is being released in a somewhat watered down form, the myClub version, which is entirely online, or Konami is simply waiting until E3 2015 to reveal PES 2016 in all its glory.
After the superb PES 2015, we’re definitely hoping it will be the latter. Anyone else seriously doubt that PES 2016 is cancelled?
