Sony may be flirting with the idea of bringing Early Access features to the PlayStation 4, according to a new job listing posted by the hardware giant.
The job description specifically states that the applicant will be responsible for ‘monitoring external and internal environment for development of new services: TaaS, GaaS, Crowdsourcing, early access test efforts, etc.’
From the sound of things, it seems like the console maker is thinking about some form of Early Access program for its consumers, although quite how successful it would be on PS4 remains to be seen.
Then again, we’ve seen the attraction of open/closed Alpha and Beta testing on home consoles in recent times, so we can only speculate for now.
After all, Early Access allows companies to garner feedback from players based on experience with an unfinished product, and then using that feedback to improve their game before launch.
