Is Teardown Coming To PS4, PS5?

Is Teardown coming to PS4, PS5? Developed by Tuxedo Labs, Teardown has just launched for the PC via Steam, and has created quite a buzz in regards to its destructible environments, lighting effects and generally jaw-dropping visuals. As such, it seems ripe for next-generation consoles, leading to many people asking if a Teardown PS5 release is on the cards.

Is it happening? Let’s find out!

Teardown PS4/PS5 – Is It Happening?

A Teardown PS4/PS5 release has yet to be announced and right now it’s only available for the PC. Given that it’s early days, there’s still a chance that we could see the game come to a Sony console, most likely PS5 given its impressive technical achievements.

Indeed, Tuxedo Games has hinted at a next-gen release but won’t confirm anything outright at this point.

I think the game would run fine on next generation consoles, but porting to console is a lot of work and out of scope for now. Maybe once we’re through early access.

We’ll be sure to let you know if we hear anything.

What Is Teardown?

Here’s the official blurb:

Plan the perfect heist using creative problem solving, brute force, and everything around you. Teardown features a fully destructible and truly interactive environment where player freedom and emergent gameplay are the driving mechanics.

Tear down walls with explosives or vehicles to create shortcuts no one thought was possible. Stack objects, build structures, or use floating objects to your advantage. Take your time to create the most efficient path through the level and get ready to run.

The moment you pick up your first target, an alarm goes off, and the heat is on. Run, jump, drive, slingshot, do whatever you need to collect all of the targets, and escape before security arrives.
