Hulu is finally coming to consoles. The company officially announced a plan that would bring the Hulu Plus service to the PlayStation 3 soon, sometime in July according to the new Plus service’s guided tour. The service will launch on the Xbox 360 sometime in early 2011.
We’ve been hearing rumors for quite some time about Hulu landing on consoles, and with today’s news comes a new choice for PS3 owners when it comes to streaming video on their consoles. The Hulu Plus service, not to be confused with the new PlayStation Plus, will feature full seasons of ABC, Fox, and NBC TV shows in HD. These will be current episodes, meaning you won’t have to wait a few days, or weeks to see the latest episodes of your favorite shows. You can check out a tour of the new service here.
The service will cost $9.99 USD a month. Yes, this is a North American announcement. So, who is ready to cancel their cable? It seems Sony’s idea that the PS3 only does everything, means the company likely has a lot more in store.
