According to the latest Media Create data, Sony’s PlayStation 3 remained the top selling home console in Japan for the week ended April 26, despite sales tumbling off somewhat after the initial rush surrounding the launch of the playable Final Fantasy XIII demo.
PS3 sold through 23,351 units compared to the massive 62,527 the week before, though still managed to comfortably outsell both the Wii and Xbox 360. Handheld platforms nabbed the top two positions this week, though, with PSP selling 41,187 units and DS moving 37,495.
Of particular note is the Japanese launch of Killzone 2, which debuted at third place on the software charts – not too shabby by anyone’s standard.
