Japan: PSP, Yakuza: Of the End on top

Sony’s aging PSP has topped the Japanese hardware charts for another week, according to the latest sales figures from MediaCreate.

The handheld sold 26,681 units for the week ended June 12, narrowly beating out Nintendo’s 3DS, which shifted 24,649 units during the same period. Both devices sold fewer units than the previous week, however.

Meanwhile, on the software front, SEGA’s zombie blaster Yakuza: Of the End debuted in first place with a whopping 298,717 units sold, knocking Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D off the top spot in the process.
