Duke Nukem Forever was panned by critics and gamers alike upon its western release in June 2011, and it seems Japanese gamers weren’t that impressed with the foul-mouthed shooter either following its launch there last year.
The game entered the ‘Shit of the Year Wiki’ (as translated by Kotaku), with gamers from Japan citing numerous issues with the Gearbox title. These include the map design; puzzles; low loading; freezes; large install; poor autosave timing; and bad A.I.
Gamers were most critical, however, of the fact the Japanese release of Duke Nukem Forever lacked any DLC or patches, and that multiplayer servers were shuttered just weeks after it was released in the region.
What do you think? Did you feel that Duke’s latest outing deserved the criticism it received? Or do you feel it was unfairly bashed? Let us know in the comments section below.
