According to Famitsu, the PlayStation 3 outsold the Xbox 360 again, 5:1 during the end of December. This comes as no surprise as both the PlayStation platforms (PSP,PS3) and Nintendo systems have outsold the Xbox 360 nearly every month of last year.
Here are the official sales numbers:
DS Lite: 195,000
Wii: 162,000
PSP: 158,000
PS3: 49,000
PS2: 30,000
Xbox 360: 9,200
Some of the leading game titles for the week included: Mario Party DS (162,000 units), Final Fantasy IV (138,000 units), Star Ocean First Departure (115,000 units), and Wii Sports (94,000 units).
As we enter a new year, we can only hope that with more popular releases for the PlayStation 3, there might be a closing in the gap, leaving the Wii and PS3 neck and neck.
