Killzone 2 holds multiplayer secrets

Guerrilla Games’ Seb Downie conducted his Live Chat "interview" yesterday on the Official PlayStation Blog, with gamers quizzing him on the hotly anticipated FPS’s online component.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, fans were keen to discover whether or not the company had any plans to match Bungie’s celebrated online environment seen in the hugely popular Halo franchise.

Having introduced unrivalled matchmaking and stat tracking for the multi-million dollar selling series, it would undoubtedly be a great addition for Killzone 2 fans to enjoy and embrace something similar.

Downie had the following to say on the matter:

"We have a couple of secrets still to announce which will cover your question, so I’ll leave that one open til the new version of the site goes live."

From what we can gather – outside of the news that the Killzone 2 website is about to receive a makeover – is that fans can probably expect some sort of matchmaking software to further their online experience. Of course, it’s all speculation for now, but that’s where we’d put our money.

What type of online innovations do you guys think would be necessary for Killzone 2’s multiplayer to compete with some of the better known online shooting franchises such as Call of Duty and Halo? Let us know in the comments section!
