Killzone 2’s musical score is intense

Killzone 2’s composer Joris de Man recently sat down with Music4Games.net in order to discuss the upcoming score for PlayStation 3’s highly anticipated title Killzone 2. As we’re sure you’re all aware, Killzone 2 is scheduled for release next month and according to de Man, the score for the game is intense to say the least. M4G received quite a few bits of information worth nothing, such as the 90 minute soundtrack length which may very well lead to a full soundtrack release if Sony Music is interested.

Our personal favorite quote taken from the interview came from de Man in relation to the score’s strings recording. "We did the strings recording here yesterday, and there were points where I was nearly weeping on my score sheet, because it was so intense."

de Man added, "In total there is around 60 minutes of interactive in-game music (the music adapts its intensity to the gameplay), which was done with midi, and 28 minutes of orchestral music for the front-end and cutscenes, which is being recorded here at Abbey Road."

This is probably one of the coolest musical features within a game thus far. We love the idea of the music changing to the way we’re taken down the Helghast one-by-one.
