Killzone 3’s single-player campaign will support cooperative split-screen action as previously hinted, developer Guerrilla Games has revealed.
The news dropped during a 1up interview with Guerrilla’s Herman Hulst, who used the feature as an example of how the studio has managed to squeeze more out of the PlayStation 3’s meaty innards for the sequel in comparison to its predecessor.
“We found a lot of power after we completed Killzone 2. Just to give you an example on the graphics side: we pulled a level from Killzone 2 into the Killzone 3 engine and it ran at 50 percent. That’s how much power we’ve been able to find," said Hulst.
"You can see it in split-screen co-op. We had to do the double rendering anyway."
Co-op was pretty much a given following a screenshot of the feature popped up online not too long ago, though this is the first we’ve heard from Guerrilla on the subject.
Killzone 3 will be released exclusively on PS3 in February 2011.
