Guerrilla Games has announced that online servers for Killzone Shadow Fall and Killzone Mercenary will be shuttered on August 12, 2022.
While the single-player campaigns for both games will not be affected by the server closure, all online features including multiplayer, Intercept Mode, and RIGS: Mechanised Combat League will be closing its doors.

Killzone: Shadow Fall was released for the PS4 as a launch title back in November 2013, while Killzone Mercenary arrived on the PS Vita a few months before its bigger brother. Sadly, both games represent the last gasp of the franchise before Guerrilla Games moved onto Horizon Zero Dawn in 2017.
So, have we seen the last of Killzone at this point? It’s tough to say. Horizon is obviously making big bucks for Sony right now, and we’ve heard nothing from Guerrilla Games about any plans for Killzone going forward.
