We know that Kingdom Hearts 3 is coming to PS4 and PS3, but new information has surfaced that another game titled Kingdom Hearts 2.9 may also be in the making.
Via LinkedIn, Osaka-based game director Richard VanDeventer has listed himself as working for Square Enix on Kingdom Hearts 2.9 for PS4 and PS3. The information has now been pulled, but not before a screenshot was taken of the listing.
The listing states that VanDeventer was working on Kingdom Hearts 2.9 in the following areas between the dates of August 2014 and June 2015.
• Game idea planning and documentation
• Game check and balance
• Boss planning
• Attraction Flow planning and documentation
He also listed his work on Kingdom Hearts 3 for PS3 and PS4 over the same period which also mentions information previously unknown, including a Gummi ship system, multiplayer and the possible introduction of Pixar characters and worlds.

According to the profile, VanDeventer has also previously worked for Capcom on Resident Evil 6 and Lost Planet 3. What’s a little bit suspicious about the listing is that the game director only has two connections on LinkedIn, which seems surprising considering the games that he’s worked on, and suggests that it could have been set up as a hoax.
What we do know however is that VanDeventer is a real person, and he has worked on Kingdom Hearts 3. His online portfolio shows the other games he’s been involved in. Also, there’s previous evidence that Kingdom Hearts 2.9 is in the works. The title was spotted on Square Enix Presents’ E3 2015 schedule but was later removed.
