Kingdom Hearts 3 developer gains western talent

Development of Kingdom Hearts 3 appears to have attracted some western talent in the shape of a former member of the Star Wars 1313 production team.

Eric Johnson had previously been working on the canceled Star Wars title as AI engineer, and according to his LinkedIn profile, has been working on Kingdom Hearts 3 for the past seven months.

Not only that, but 3D artist Praveen Dubey is also involved with the hotly anticipated Disney-RPG sequel. Dubey works at Lakshya Digital, so it is unclear whether Square Enix has hired them out for a contract or just Dubey himself.

Kingdom Hearts 3 development is going ‘smoothly,’ assures Square Enix, although we’re still no closer to finding out a release date for the PS4 and Xbox One title.

The game was formally announced after years of rumors at Sony’s E3 2013 press event.
