The voice actor for Disney legend Goofy has confirmed that, to his knowledge, Kingdom Hearts 3 will release in 2015.
And Square Enix USA has swiftly tried to squash the excitement.
VG24/7 chronicled the revealing tweets in which Bill Farmer responds to a fan asking when the game will come out. Farmer confirms that his voice work has wrapped on the long-awaited third core installment and that it will release this year.
Several of the tweets have been deleted, and his answers come in response to many different queries. Here’s a couple that are still live:
@AlienCows It’s coming out sometime this year!

@AlienCows 2015!

A few more, with even firmer confirmation, have been deleted. Here’s what Bill had to say, according to VG24/7:
@Viperletsplays we have been recording on it for the last few years. It is supposed to come out later this year.
@EmuTheDave I am certain that this is what I know & have been told.
As VG24/7 also mentions, there’s confusion when Bill seems to admit the game he’s talking about is actualy Re:Coded, which was remastered for this year’s Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX collection. However, he corrects himself, clarifying that Kingdom Hearts 3 is the game he’s talking about and believes will release this year. After all, his voice work is complete:
@ShaunC__@AlienCows As far as I can tell.

The fervor has prompted a response from Square Enix USA:
There was a Goof! The release date for @KINGDOMHEARTS III remains unannounced.
— SQUARE ENIX USA (@SquareEnixUSA) January 8, 2015
But as far as I’m concerned, the secret’s already out. It feels unlikely that Kingdom Hearts 3, announced with merely a concept video at E3 2013, could be so far into development—especially given Square Enix’s recent pedigree with timely releases of hotly anticipated games. There was very little ambiguity in Bill Farmer’s tweets, and for a release date to still be "unannounced" is hardly a refutation of his words. For English voice acting to be wrapped on the project already means Kingdom Hearts 3 is much further along than perhaps any of us had dared to dream.
