Square Enix has confirmed during the D23 event over the weekend that Kingdom Hearts IV will launch in late 2027 for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S.
Check out the trailer below.
Speaking during a ‘Deep Dive into Kingdom Hearts’ panel during the event, Tai Yasue and Tetsuya Nomura, co-directors on Kingdom Hearts IV, assured fans that the game will make its late 2027 release window. Here’s what the pair had to say:
As for Kingdom Hearts IV, I’d like to say that I want to thank everyone for their patience. At this year’s D23, we were finally able to announce a release date for Kingdom Hearts IV. I’m really excited about that as well. And I can confidently say, and promise, that it will launch in 2027. Schedule-wise, development is very smooth. It’s not like an 80 percent thing, 90 percent—it’s a 100 percent thing. So we’ll be there in 2027 for sure. I promise you that.
We announced that the game is going to be coming in late 2027, and I saw some people online saying that maybe the actual release date might still get pushed back. I just wanted to set the record straight: that is not happening. We are launching in 2027. So I hope that people look forward to the game coming in 2027. Marketing for the game has just begun, so I hope that people look forward to hearing more news as well.
Kingdom Hearts IV is due out in late 2027.
