Legendary Entertainment’s upcoming Street Fighter movie adaptation has gained a new director in Kitao Sakurai, the director and executive producer o The Eric Andre Show.
Capcom, creator behind the video game franchise, is said to be heavily involved in the adaptation, which is good news considering Street Fighter’s previous endeavours on the big screen haven’t exactly been great. Back in 1994, Street Fighter was adapted for the big screen in a flick starring Jean-Claude Van Damme Kylie Minogue, although box office returns were poor and reviews particularly harsh.

Sony has currently pegged the Street Fighter movie for release in cinemas on Mach 20, 2026.
