Konami restructures, appoints Tomoyuki Tsuboi to president of the company

It seems that Sony isn’t the only Japanese company to see new management come and go recently, as Konami today announced that former president of the company, Mr. Shinji Hirano, has been replaced by Tomoyuki Tsuboi.

Having been with the company for 14 years now, Mr. Tsuboi will oversee production in western territories including but not limited to mobile and social gaming platforms.

Mr. Tsuboi will also be in charge of handling business strategies for Konami franchises like Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, and Pro Evolution Soccer.

We’re not entirely sure what this will mean for Konami as we know it, however, we do take pleasure in the fact that Mr. Tsuboi is a resident of the U.S. with an alleged understanding of the North and South American markets. Japanese developers need more of that.
