Rockstar’s long-delayed detective romp L.A. Noire will finally hit North America on May 17 and Europe on May 20, the industry giant announced today.
“L.A. Noire breaks new ground for us,” commented Rockstar co-founder and president, Sam Houser.
“Its intense blend of action and real detective work defies genre conventions to create a unique and captivating thriller.”
Set in a sumptuously detailed recreation of 1940s Los Angeles, the former PS3-exclusive thriller has players plonked in an open-world setting tasked with solving a series of grisly murders. Much hype has been made of the game’s swanky MotionScan tech, which utilizes 32 cameras to capture an actor’s facial expressions from every conceivable angle.
L.A. Noire will be released for PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms.
