Larian Confirms Divinity Has Even ‘Deeper Sequences Of Consequences’ Than Baldur’s Gate III

Larian Studios’ Swen Vincke has revealed during a chat with PCGamer that the upcoming Divinity, which was announced during The Game Awards 2025 last Friday, is set to be offer even greater consequences than Baldur’s Gate III, promising a much higher level of agency than 2023’s critically acclaimed fantasy-CRPG.

The level of agency that we’re going to give you is very, very high—much higher than what happened in BG3. At least that’s our ambition. And this is agency at pretty much all levels, so it’s at the narrative as well as systems level. That makes it our most ambitious. It’s the biggest game that we’ve ever made.

When quizzed if this meant a greater volume of choices or their depth, Vincke replied that it’s both, while adding Divinity would offer “long, deeper sequences of consequence.”

One of the things that gives my heart joy when I play our games is when the things click into each other—the narrative, the systems themselves. When you have several situations that are going on and they all click into each other, and they feel like a consequence of things, then it becomes really, really good.

Divinity has yet to receive a release date and at this point we aren’t even sure what platform(s) it will be released on.
