LEGO Group has announced plans to bring development of its video game efforts in-house, having previously collaborated with a number of third-party studios for decades now.
Speaking with the Financial Times, LEGO Group’s Chief Operating Officer, Niels Christiansen, commented:
“We can say, as long as we’re under the Lego brand, we can cover experiences for kids of all ages, digital or physical,” before confirming that an in-house studio “is something we’re building up.”

LEGO Group has been releasing games based on its brand since 1995 and has worked alongside a number of other studios over the years, with one of the most prolific being Traveller’s Tales. The company worked on a number of LEGO adaptations of major IPs, including Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Batman, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Hobbit, and more.
Last month, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier revealed during a chat on the Kinda Funny Games podcast that TT Games is currently working on a new LEGO video game that will be released in 2026, although at this point its identity is unknown. In addition, it emerged in December last year that a James Bond LEGO video game was pitched by TT Games, although the project sadly never saw the light of day beyond a trailer.
