Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has revealed that PlayStation Portable sales across Europe have reached 13.4 million since its inception in early 2005.
The figures were divulged at the company’s recent press conference at the Leipzig Games Convention this week, where SCEE boss David Reeves noted that the handheld device is gaining "overwhelming support from a wide range of consumers all over the world".
Reeves linked the PSP’s success to its "exciting" line-up of software, in addition to the launch of colour variations and the Slim & Lite model in September 2007.
As reported yesterday, the platform holder announced it would be releasing the PSP-3000 in October 2008, which features an enhanced LCD screen and built-in microphone.
