Leisure Suit Larry returns in HD

Austin-based development studio Replay Games has announced plans to release a HD revamp of Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards. The re-mastered title is scheduled for an early 2012 release, to mark the series’ 25th anniversary.

The series creator Al Lowe has given his blessing to go ahead with the project, so much in fact Al has teamed up with Replay Games to directly work on the upcoming reboot.

The HD version of the original Leisure Suit Larry title will feature upgraded visuals, sound and control, whilst retaining the game’s signature puzzles and its blue sense of humour.

In an exclusive interview with EGM, Lowe said, “I’m overjoyed to see Larry released from his digital dungeon after all this time, and be placed in the hands of someone who understands him and wants to see him, brought back to the forefront by people who love him and understand him.”

It has also been confirmed that if the loveable sleazeball’s HD rebirth proves to be successful, the team is set to tackle the rest of the original series.

Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards will be ported to numerous platforms, including Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, On-Live, and Steam.
