Let it Die coming in 2016 exclusively on PS4, watch new gameplay video

Goichi Suda’s Let it Die, the free-to-play PlayStation 4-exclusive brawler, is still on track for a release in 2016, GungHo Online Entertainment has announced.

The game was originally announced back in 2014 following the release of Suda51’s previous efforts, the commercially-underperforming Killer is Dead and Lollipop Chainsaw. The game was initially known as Lily Bergamo.

Let it Die takes the form of an asynchronous multiplayer romp where gamers slug it out with AI-controlled opponents that are based on actual players. If you happen to fall in combat, then your character and gear will pop up as an enemy in another player’s game.

Suda51 is best known for producing some of the most, shall we say, idiosyncratic video games of the past decade or so. He first shot to fame in the west with Killer7 on the GameCube and PlayStation 2, and garnered a cult following with his work on No More Heroes.

Back in 2011, he teamed up with Shinji Mikami, the creator of the Resident Evil and Dino Crisis franchises, for the action-horror title Shadows of the Damned. Suda51 currently serves as the CEO of his development studio, Grasshopper Manufacture.
