Neowiz has revealed that Lies Of P is getting difficulty options in an effort to make the game more accessible to new players.
The difficulty options will be released alongside the new expansion, Lies of P: Overture, and will offer three options to select from in total. The game’s director, Jiwon Choi, had the following to say about the decision to implement difficulty options, which is traditionally not seen in Soulslike titles.

“We wanted to make sure a wider audience of players could play the game,” said Choi. When asked if this decision was based on feedback from players, he added, “Absolutely, we have a lot of feedback from customers, and from our developers.
So by making development adjustments and introducing these difficulty options, we can offer the experience to different types of players. This broadens the base.
The standard difficulty setting for Lies Of P will be known as Legendary Stalker, with Butterfly’s Guidance and Awakened Puppet also available to select from.
Lies Of P was released for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One in September 2023, and sold one million copies by the following month. The expansion is set to arrive in Summer 2025, with a full sequel also in development at Round8. You can read our full review of Lies of P here.
