LightSpeed Japan Studio Is Working On A Triple-A Action Game, Reveals Hideaki Itsuno

LightSpeed Japan Studio head Hideaki Itsuno has revealed that the company’s debut title will take the form of a triple-A action title with a distinct Japanese style.

Itsuno-san, who previously worked at Capcom for more than 30 years and was responsible for directing major titles including Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening, Power Stone 2, Dragon’s Dogma, and Devil May Cry 5, revealed during a panel at the Game Developers Conference the first details on the project.

We’re building a creative environment that combines diverse cultural perspectives with cutting-edge technology. Our focus is on developing gameplay elements that offer players entirely new experiences – the kind of innovations that make players say ‘I’ve never seen that in a game before.’

Drawing on his extensive experience directing games and building incredible teams at Capcom that drove the remarkable successes of Devil May Cry, the Capcom Alpha series, Capcom vs SNK and many more iconic game titles, Hideaki is ready to apply the same principles of creative freedom, efficiency, and humility to assemble an outstanding team and create something truly groundbreaking.

Itsuno’s last project with Capcom was Dragon’s Dogma 2, which was released in March 2024 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
