Here’s a story to warm the cockles of your heart. The first PS4 20th Anniversary Edition off the production line was auctioned recently in Japan with profits being donated to the Save The Children charity.
However, it’s now materialised that the unnamed winning bidder can’t pay for the console after bidding a whopping ¥15,135,000 ($129,000). Sony was obviously in good spirit though, because they are now donating the money that was bid to the charity, and they’re actually going to keep the Limited Edition PS4 to put on display at Sony’s Ginza Showroom in Tokyo.
The console, which had a run of only 12,300 units and was kitted out in original grey to match the look of the first PlayStation, can be viewed at the Showroom from February 21, 2015. Ah, good ol’ Sony.
