John Wick has his fourth cinematic adventure upcoming, though his appearance in video games has been inconsistent to say the least.
John Wick Hex is a very popular and well-made game, and John Wick Chronicles brings you into Wick’s world through VR, but Wick has yet to receive the big AAA treatment.
According to Lionsgate’s chief executive officer however, Jon Feltheimer, that treatment isn’t necessarily off the table by any means.
In fact, the studio has already begun “fielding proposals” for a new John Wick title, though of course that doesn’t come close to meaning anything is set in stone.
“I don’t want to get ahead of myself here, but we believe there is a big AAA game to be made out of John Wick. We have been fielding proposals.
We certainly are interested in moving that forward, but I don’t want to say anything more about that at this time.”
Feltheimer isn’t at all wrong about Wick’s potential. Any one of the films could work as a template for a big AAA third-person shooter title with a stealth emphasis.
That’s just the obvious choice, but there’s a whole lot of potential within the John Wick universe, and if Keanu Reeves even jumped on to voice the main role, that could be a huge draw for fans.
It’ll be interesting to see which development team is able to snag the rights to make this game, and what kind of game it’ll be, if it does happen.
