The producer on Lollipop Chainsaw RePop has taken to X to detail the game’s Original Mode, which recreates the original 2012 version of the zombie-slaying title and is now confirmed to be uncensored.
Original Mode is one of two options players have to play Lollipop Chainsaw RePop, the other being RePop Mode, which adds pop-art damage effects and overall scales down the amount of violence. However, Yoshimi Yasuda confirmed that Original Mode is uncensored, and will offer a more traditional experience for fans of the original version.
The Original Mode is a mode that reproduces the same gore expression, cut scene direction, character design, motion, comic-style character introduction images, costumes, achievements, etc. as the original version. For this original mode, which we applied for approval, there were no requests for revisions from any of the [platform holders]. This is as I explained before.

While not censored, there have been some changes made to Original Mode, but they have been implemented to improve the general gameplay and bring them up to modern standards.”This includes attack power, movement speed, camera movement range, combo input acceptance time, and initial combo skills,” explained Yasuda-san.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePop releases on September 12, 2024 for PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
