The Chinese Room has announced the first slice of DLC for Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2, Loose Cannon, which launches on April 27, 2026 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
Billed as a standalone story DLC, Loose Cannon allows players to experience a new questline as Benny Muldoon. The character is seen numerous times in Fabien’s quests, but The Chinese Room notes that there are several questions left unanswered regarding his motivations and relationships with others. Loose Cannon introduces four new quests that chronicle the events from shortly the In Chains of Lead and Gold quest, where Phyre and Benny meet, to the the point where Phyre encounters Benny once more during A Star of Cold Aspect.
According to the press blurb on the game’s official website, Benny offers a number of differences compared to Phyre, with the former’s Glide, Telekinesis and Heightened Senses replaced by Benny’s own unique abilities. Chief among these is the first-person gunplay, which takes the place of Telekinesis in the control setup. Benny wields a custom made 9mm pistol modified to allow it to function as a fully automatic, including a high-capacity magazine.
Benny also has access to melee weapons of varying styles, such as a knife and Warhammer, and can also engage in unarmed combat, which features strikes and finishers that illustrate his unique brand of ruthless justice. Meanwhile, Benny replaces Phyre’s Glide mechanic with Soaring Leap as his primary traversal tool, allowing him to jump great heights. ]
Joining the release of Loose Cannon on April 27 will be the Spring Update for Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2, which adds an updated sae feature, Fabien Fast travel, and various improvements to melee combat. Following this in Q2 2026 will be The Flower & The Flame Summer Update, which includes a Photo Mode, Noir Mode, and improvements to ranged combat.
