Love Live is getting its first home console game in the form of “Love Live! School Idol Festival ~after school ACTIVITY~ Wai-Wai! Home Meeting!!” for the PlayStation 4.
The rhythm game is based on “Love Live! School idol festival ~after school ACTIVITY~,” which is the enhanced arcade game adaptation of the original “Love Live! School idol festival” mobile game. As with the arcade game, Square Enix will develop and publish Wai-Wai! Home Meeting!!
There is no launch date or window yet for Love Live! School Idol Festival ~after school ACTIVITY~ Wai-Wai! Home Meeting!! However, a western release is confirmed. Curiously, there is only single-player (the mobile and arcade LLSIF games supported multiplayer). The game will contain songs by μ’s from the original Love Live series and Love Live Sunshine’s Aqours, and Saint Snow. You can check out the teaser trailer below.
The Love Live franchise began in August 2010 as a multimedia project that has included songs, manga, short stories, novels, games, and multiple anime TV series and movies. The previous PlayStation-related Love Live game release was the Love Live! School idol paradise series for the PlayStation Vita.
The original Love Live storyline follows a high school student Honoka Kosaka and her friends as they become school idol pop stars to save their school from closing. The Love Live Sunshine spin-off project started in 2015, with its own anime debuting the following year. Another spin-off TV anime series, Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, recently premiered on October 3, 2020.
